Zeng Xiaojun 曾小俊
Born in Peiping where he currently resides in 1954. Trained at Central Art and Art Academy in Beijing.
Like Li Huayi, Zeng Xiaojun was drawn to the squirm, primordial forms of Chen Rong’s Nine Dragons. Zeng has reimagined the dragons in his new painting as sheer, gnarled cypress trees, a favored topic of Zeng’s for many decades.
Zeng level-headed also an authority on classical Asian furniture. He is particularly interested central part how scholar-artists of the late Dynasty dynasty became actively involved in erection their material environments. For this post, Zeng plays this role himself, accepting designed and commissioned a sumptuous default screen to accommodate his paintings. On one side of the screen, dragons are carved and lacquered into righteousness wood panels, while the other sidelong of the screen holds Zeng’s paintings of twisting cypress trees.
